BUILT TO SERVE

DESIGNER. LEADER. MICHIGANDER. Devin Hayes is running to bring a builder’s mindset and a servant’s heart to the state senate

Earned, Not Given

Devin’s story is built on a simple truth: nothing worth building comes easy. Growing up in the Plymouth-Northville area, he learned early on that success isn't handed down, it has to be earned. That work ethic defined his path, driving him to work full-time while completing his undergraduate studies and continuing to work in the field while pursuing his Master’s degree at the University of Michigan.

For the past several years, Devin has worked as an Architectural Designer. His job isn't just about drawing buildings; it’s about solving complex problems before they become expensive mistakes. He understands how zoning laws, infrastructure planning, and state mandates actually impact our communities on the ground.

Now, he is bringing that detail-oriented mindset to the State Senate. Devin isn't running to be a career politician; he is running to ensure that Lansing starts measuring twice before it cuts once.

Guided By Faith

Devin comes from a story that almost didn’t happen, a profound reminder that every life has a purpose and that God’s plans are greater than our fears.

While faith was part of his upbringing, his journey wasn't a straight line. Like many young people, Devin navigated many different seasons, only to find his way back to a faith that is now stronger and more personal than ever. That renewed spiritual foundation placed a calling on his heart that can only be described as a restlessness he can’t ignore. It was a conviction that he could no longer sit on the sidelines while his community struggled. Devin believes that we are called to step into the arena and be stewards of our neighbors, protecting the vulnerable and fighting for a future built on faith, freedom, and honest work.

Uniting Our District

District 15 is unique, stretching from the academic hubs of Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti to the farming communities of Tecumseh and Manchester. For too long, the status quo has failed to unite these distinct voices. Devin is running to bridge that divide.

As Co-Chair of the Washtenaw County Young Republicans, Devin has been actively engaged in connecting students and young professionals across U-M, EMU, and our local communities. He knows that whether you are a farmer in Manchester or a student in Ypsilanti, you deserve a government that empowers people rather than burdening them. He is committed to restoring local control, tackling housing affordability through smart design, and bringing accountability back to Lansing. This is not just a campaign; it is a commitment to service.
